LEGION OF GOOD WILLThe Legion of Goodwill (LegiĆ£o da Boa Vontade) is a non-governmental, humanitarian, educational and cultural organization founded in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on January 1, 1950. It is the first and only Brazilian organization to obtain general consultative status with the Economical and Social Council of the United Nations. The Legion of Good Will has 552 charitable and social service units, in 7 countries, addressing problems such as illiteracy, unemployment, hunger, malnutrition and infant mortality. They are assisting over 4 million people yearly. |
